Did you find what you wanted?
Tue 5 Jan 2010
One thing that I have noticed during my efforts is that regardless of what your goals are, there is one key factor that makes are breaks your efforts. It doesn’t matter what you are doing to loose the weight or burn the fat. It doesn’t matter what combination of things you are doing to achieve your goals. The key that I am talking about is your focus. You staying at what you are doing. Never stopping or giving up. Now if you have a bad couple of days, those 2 days will not cave your efforts. Just get back at it right away. It’s your non stop, consistent focus and effort that will get you across the finish line to achieving your goals. For the active part that you do to burn calories, you need to find something that excites you and empowers you to keep yourself motivated on your journey. There are a lot of good websites listed in our Suggested Links page that can help you with your efforts. This list keeps growing as more are sources are found.
Yes, there are a lot of good weight loss supplements, programs and exercises available to help you, but, unless you get yourself properly focused and your head is in the game, you are probably spinning your wheels and/or getting stuck in the mud.
You could go by the fact that “Oh, I’m not that bad” or “I’m not alone”, but, those statements are just a way of accepting denial or masking the truth of how you really feel.
They key is you and you developing a whole new lifestyle for yourself.

Being stuck in a rut, can happen to anyone. I’ve been there too…..
Have you considered intervals? Intervals can be a way to spice up your workouts to get you motivated and get you in shape. It’s a good way to burn calories, increase endurance and strengthen your heart.
Men and women can vary their workouts with intervals and you don’t have to be a runner to do this. Weight Lifting or Strength Training is another way. By making use of intervals, you are challenging your body and mind to push harder. Workouts will become easier until you up the ante on your goals.
One way I found myself running faster was by using intervals. I would run, then walk a little, than run more and faster. Eventually, I found myself building speed.
Work out or run with a friend, or change scenery while running are other ways to make fitness fun. Fitness does not have to be boring. If you are a runner, consider getting involved in local 5k and 10k races. That will get you going.
Ok, if you are thinking “Tim, I’m not into running!” Well, whether it be weight lifting, yoga, aerobics, whatever, how about joining a local gym. You can meet people, make friends etc. I was a member of a local gym for 9 years and found it to be rewarding.
Think of Fitness as Fun Intense Times Nurturing Energy Smashing Stress. Oh, yeah, some would argue this. But, you get the point. It’s a good way to make sense if Fitness.

My wife and I have been battling this issue for years it seams. We both have had are “UP’s” and “Down’s” with this subject. This is a subject that can be very sensative with people and rightfully so! My wife and I gained weight this winter with the holiday food that tends to tempt us all. Sure, you can discipline yourself so you only eat a certain amount or certain kinds of food. But, after a while it gets hard. Everyone else is eating what they want and you find that you can’t. This makes it harder. For me, my running keeps me in check. I know that when January gets here, I have to “get with the program”.
My wife on the other hand does not have something like running to keep her in check and therefore has a harder time.
There is so much information out there that it can be hard to know what to do about weight loss. I started to see the benefits of using Herbalife products last summer (2007) when I began to use the shake mixes and supplements. With that experience, I chose to really start my weight loss challenge right away when the new year started. If you were reading my posts, you’ve been seeing my progress. My wife is also working on the challenge as well. She has been a little discouraged, but, not defeated. Like I said, this can be a hard issue. Everyone would like weight loss to be fast and furious, but it isn’t like that. It’s taken me 26 days to loose 6 pounds, without exercising. I will be starting to run again soon for the purpose of getting the training going again. With the training that I do, the weight loss will increase with increased activity. But, as you can see, it is not necessary to loose weight with excersing although it does help!
If there is anyone reading this post that is considering some sort of weight loss effort, remember that loosing weight is not done with a diet, it’s done with a lifestyle cfhange. Diets don’t work, changes in lifestyle does. I will use Herbalife products for the rest of my life because they work and they taste great! When you find what works, you stick with it.
