Did you find what you wanted?
Tue 17 Nov 2009
No matter where you are heading, whether it be weight loss or some other goal, at times it can be hard to go down the road alone. My wife found that by joining a group online (3fatchicks.com), she felt that she had someone to answer too, and she needed that. Sometimes, a group is all you need to get there. Sometimes, you need to get with a group to find your answers. Going it alone can be impossible at times. Finding others online who share or have similar issues makes it nice and shows that you are not alone in your quest. Even here at AboveNBeyond4u.com, there is a new forum available. General discussions and/or a fitness section. Best of all it’s FREE!
By sharing with others, you may find an idea that someone else is doing that may just work for you and solve a current problem. It may even make things easier for you along the way. There are a wealth of communities and forums available on the Internet. All my wife did was to do a google search to find what she wanted and was underway in no time.
For some suggestions on other websites or communities, check out the Suggested Links page or see the following post: Useful websites that rock!

When you can’t see something, there is no guarantee that it exists? Right? If the answers are right in front of you and you choose to ignore them, is not the end result the same? You continue to go on down a road that is nothing but a detriment to you. So now, you are at the proverbial fork in the road. Not everyone takes the “right” direction and end up going to the left for whatever reason. You know the saying, “you gotta start somewhere”. The problem is that people fear change and get used to or caught up in reason’s or excuses for not making changes that could benefit them. Change is hard, sometimes down right impossible when other realities get in the way. Or at least, that is how it seems. In a case of weight loss, the greater the weight, the greater the need. Fear of failing to loose weight ends up being an obstacle for a lot of people. It took a while to gain that weight, it’l take time to loose it. Patients is a key factor in this process as well as an understanding of creating a new permanent lifestyle to support your desires. For, if you loose the weight, but don’t loose the habits that got you to gain that weight, you’ll only get that weight back anyway. I was surprised to see that I’ve been overweight too. I started at 187.7 and my bmi was over 27 which is defined as overweight. Today I’m under 170 and I feel a lot better. You gotta get started and stick with it to achieve your goals. It’s not always an easy fun process. There will be those bad days. Stop ignoring the resources that are right in front of you and do something for yourself today! What do you got to loose? Weight? Poor Health?

When dealing with other issues like getting over a sickness or injury, paying off a mortgage etc, weight loss is no different then these issues. It doesn’t happen over night.
Patients, discipline, focus and effort all play apart in achieving goals. On the other hand, fear, emotions, doubt and lack of confidence can lead to interfering with making the effort or continuing the effort of achieving your weight loss (or other) goals. Make a commitment and stick to it. You’ll get there. Basically, it took you a while to get overweight, and it will take you a while to loose it too. Never starve yourself to loose weight, because you actually need to eat to loose weight.
One thing that people tend to forget or not think of is that you need to think of this as a change of lifestyle and not a diet. Diet signifies short term. The problem is if you don’t let go of those bad habits, you could get right back to where you started from and you don’t ant that. What do you got to loose by working at loosing weight? Weight ?? Go for it! How will you be 6 months from now?

Life can sometimes get your way and influence your attitude. People can do that too. I perceive that there are 3 groups of attitudes: Good, Bad and Ugly. I’m being simple here on the 3 types. Let’s start with the Ugly Attitude first.
The Ugly Attitude: This goes far beyond the Bad types. Nothing is good and this person is not open to anything at all. One view, his/her view and that is it. This person has few friends and it’s no wonder why.
The Bad Attitude: Having a bad attitude could be a result of a recent bad experience and the person hasn’t yet gotten over it. This type is nowhere near like the Ugly Attitude. Bad attitudes can come and go.
The Good Attitude: Those who have a good attitude are not immune to the Bad Attitude, but, is usually on good terms. These types usually bounce back quickly after a bad experience.
Your everyday life is affected in some way by your attitude. Your health, outlook, and daily routine can all be in some way touched by your outlook. Take for instance, you may not feel like doing something depending upon how your attitude is. Your attitude could be a result of depression, injury, sickness , or even a positive event.
If you are having a real bad day today, here is something to try, look in a mirror and smile, it may just get you going. Attitude is like good or bad weather, it can change from one day to the next. Get out from under the rain cloud and poor out the sunshine today!

It’s amazing how making simple choices can lead to huge outcomes. If you start making changes now, in a while, those little changes will start a ball rolling that will make a big difference in your life. Nothing good happens over night and without effort. No one said that it had to cost much too! Let’s say that weight loss is your goal. Here are a few choices you could start with:
1. Control your portions: Start limiting your portions to a reasonable size and stop eating excessively.
2. Nutrition Labels: Pay attention to the Nutrition Labels on any food or drink items.
3. Vitamins: Get some, such as a multi-vitamin.
4. Exercise: You don’t have to belong to a gym for this one
5. Research: Get online and learn more!
This is a good starting point to get that ball rolling and your feet moving. After a while, you’ll begin to notice a new you. Be patient, it’l take some time, but you are worth it. Oh, don’t let age keep you from making changes. It was April of 1997 when I became a runner at age 34. Changing your life makes all the difference in the world. A year later, I gave up alcohol (beer) and haven’t looked back since. There were those who said I was crazy for not drinking beer anymore. Well, if they knew what I know now. I’m not complaining. By giving up beer, you also give up certain eating habits that go along with alcohol. I admit, that I completely removed beer and some other items from my life, but you don’t have to do as I did. You can try and limit those items to start with. Then later give them up as you want.
Start making small choices today, and tomorrow, you will start reaping the rewards of those simple choices.

It’s amazing, but, the human body is like a machine. I recently had my annual physical and all my numbers were withing a good range. My blood pressure was perfect! As all my other numbers were well within or near where they should be. Like your fuel gauge and other indicators in a car, is something is off, you know something is wrong. Staying fit with exercising and eating right is all I am doing.
With yummy Herbalife Meal Replacement shakes, and other supplements, you can do the same thing too! I have lost over 20 pounds and intend on loosing more. I was overweight, for my size and didn’t realize where I should be. So, I started out at 187.7 and am down to into the mid 160’s I’m thinking that my current goal is at least 160. How’s your machine? Think about it.

Everyone has goals when it comes to weight loss or weight management. You may not realize it, but, no matter where you stand you’ll fit into any one of these goals / categories:
1. Just surfing / gaining knowledge / socializing
2. Searching for answers for a solution
3. Want to loose weight NOW
4. Want to stay fit and get proper nutrition
5. Need energy
6. Have some other health / weight related issue
One of the above categories most likely comes close to where you are. Unfortunately, a lot of people get stuck in search mode and never really do anything about what they are looking for, even when the answers are right in front of you on the screen you are looking at. Hence the saying “You can lead a horse to water, but, you can’t make it drink”.
