Holidays are full of fun, food and plenty of gifts and excitement. Aside from the rush, everyone trying to get everything done before the big day, (Thanksgiving and/or Christmas) it can be a challenge during the holidays. Especially when you add the W word or the D word to the list of do’s and don’ts this time of year. Those words added are “Weight Loss or Diet”. But, as I’ve been saying, if you keep Portion Control in mind, you should be fine. But, in case, you would like to know what else can be done to keep yourself from feeling guilty during the holidays, here are some ideas:
1. For some recipes that you have in mind, and where you can, replace butter with applesauce. This works!
2. Use lower fat milk
3. Use lean meats
4. The Nuts have it, 3/4 cup of dry roasted peanuts can have 630 calories (52 fat grams)
Find an alternative such as Herbalife Roasted Soy Nuts (130 Calories, 5 fat grams)
Watching what you eat and how you make your delicious recipes can help others around you without them even knowing it. You can give others something that is healthy and tastes good too. My wife just made a very elegant and good tasting Apple Coffee Cake that she got the recipe off of Kimbenson.com. I told my wife that she has just graduated from being a very good baker to an elegant baker. This was the best coffee cake that I have ever tasted. And it’s good for you too!
The Holidays can be fun for all, and don’t have to be bad for your waist as long as you are careful and mindful of what you are doing. Yes, it’s harder this time of year, but, the new year will be here before you know it. You don’t have to put off your efforts, simply because the holidays are here. With a little effort now, it’ll pay off with big dividends in January. You’ll be happier that you stuck to your guns and kept at your efforts.
Food doesn’t have to be frightful, and should be delightful! Seasons Greetings All!

Now and then regardless of how successful you are, your worst enemy can rear it’s ugly head. There can be many reasons for this such as seeing what other people are doing and you can’t or feeling like you aren’t getting anywhere. Or, you could have just lost 15 or 20 pounds and it seems like you can’t loose anymore. Another example could be that you took a break from this and have found it hard to get back into it. These feelings are normal. My wife and I have been there. Your continued perseverance will pay off. I know it can seem frustrating when you have hit a wall. But remember this, walls were built, so they can be taken down. To start tearing that wall down, you need to concentrate on the basics and stick with it:
1. Portion control
2. Eating right and avoid the bad foods
3. Pay attention to the Nutrition labels
4. Weigh yourself once a week, not every day
5. Don’t eat after 7 or 8 at night
These are just some basics to follow on your way to weight loss. Easy, no it’s not, but, you have to un-learn habits you picked up along the way. Besides, do you want your enemy to win? Of course not. Continue working on it and say good bye to your worst enemy forever! Understand that your success or failure starts and ends with you. How mad do you have to get before you say enough is enough and take control to banish your worst enemy? Keeping all this in mind, weight loss is only the beginning and you need to get proper nutrition as well.

It’s amazing how making simple choices can lead to huge outcomes. If you start making changes now, in a while, those little changes will start a ball rolling that will make a big difference in your life. Nothing good happens over night and without effort. No one said that it had to cost much too! Let’s say that weight loss is your goal. Here are a few choices you could start with:
1. Control your portions: Start limiting your portions to a reasonable size and stop eating excessively.
2. Nutrition Labels: Pay attention to the Nutrition Labels on any food or drink items.
3. Vitamins: Get some, such as a multi-vitamin.
4. Exercise: You don’t have to belong to a gym for this one
5. Research: Get online and learn more!
This is a good starting point to get that ball rolling and your feet moving. After a while, you’ll begin to notice a new you. Be patient, it’l take some time, but you are worth it. Oh, don’t let age keep you from making changes. It was April of 1997 when I became a runner at age 34. Changing your life makes all the difference in the world. A year later, I gave up alcohol (beer) and haven’t looked back since. There were those who said I was crazy for not drinking beer anymore. Well, if they knew what I know now. I’m not complaining. By giving up beer, you also give up certain eating habits that go along with alcohol. I admit, that I completely removed beer and some other items from my life, but you don’t have to do as I did. You can try and limit those items to start with. Then later give them up as you want.
Start making small choices today, and tomorrow, you will start reaping the rewards of those simple choices.

It’s amazing, but, the human body is like a machine. I recently had my annual physical and all my numbers were withing a good range. My blood pressure was perfect! As all my other numbers were well within or near where they should be. Like your fuel gauge and other indicators in a car, is something is off, you know something is wrong. Staying fit with exercising and eating right is all I am doing.
With yummy Herbalife Meal Replacement shakes, and other supplements, you can do the same thing too! I have lost over 20 pounds and intend on loosing more. I was overweight, for my size and didn’t realize where I should be. So, I started out at 187.7 and am down to into the mid 160’s I’m thinking that my current goal is at least 160. How’s your machine? Think about it.

Recapping, you’ve cut away the excuses, developed positive reasons and conquered some fear on your way to defeating YOU, your worst enemy. That’s a good foundation in moving you in the right direction in getting healthier and/or loosing weight.
Now, lets do it! Let’s finish the defeat of You! It’s hard work, yes, it’s hard work and it’s not easy to achieve what you are looking for. You simply just have to work at it day by day, month by month and so fourth. It’s not a DIET, but a LIFESTYLE change that you have to accept. So here are your steps:
1. Eliminate the excuses
2. Develop good reasons
3. Conquer the fear and be true to yourself
4. exercise 3 days a week (or work up to that)
5. get on a weight loss program (or management program)
6. join a weight loss challenge (for support and motivation)
7. realize that weight loss doesn’t happen over night
8. be patient
9. Understand that you WILL win!
10. Still having trouble, start over with item #1 above
Free consultation and BMI testing available, contact us anytime!
You can do this, and it starts and stop with you! It’s time for your worst enemy to loose and for You to Win!!!

In another blog of mine, I wrote some articles using the above title line and thought it appropriate to use in this blog. In this case, What you should not spare is your efforts. Even if you have a bad couple of days, just pick up the pieces and get going. You need to stay consistent with your efforts and you will achieve you goals. A few bad days will not rock your boat. Remember that what you should be working on is a lifestyle and not a diet. Diets don’t work because they signify short term efforts. If your plan is to work a plan until you reach your goal and then return to how you used to be, you will return to how you used to be!
The advantage about our weight loss programs is that once you reach your goal, they change from a weight loss program to a weight management program. If you are on a weight loss program from Herbalife and you are not getting your desired results, then one of the following could be the reason why:
1. According to your BMI and other stats, you are in your appropriate weight range.
1. You have reached your goal and/or your body isn’t ready to loose anymore weight
2. Your plan needs updated or adjusted to your current weight and needs
3. You are not staying consistent with the plan that your Nutrition Coach made for you.
These are just some of the main reasons that you could be facing if you are not seeing any results.
Stay blogged for part #2
