I’m sure there are some that may say, Hey! I really don’t have the money right now. And that is fine. There are those times where this is a valid excuse. However, there are those who hide behind this excuse. Now, let’s start looking at Defeating that Enemy – You!
We already covered step #1 in the process of defeating the enemy, and that is identifying some excuses that can hinder progress. Now, let’s dig a little deeper.
Ok, as asked in the post “Are You Your Worst enemy?“, you need to ask yourself, “Am I being True to myself?” After you get past the excuses and start replacing the excuses with reasons why you should get into action and either loose weight and/or start getting healthier. Once you start having positive reasons instead of negative excuses, your motivation will start to increase.
Fear can also be a de-motivator that helps you create excuses instead of good reasons to get into action. So, after you throw away all the excuses, start developing reasons, and your fear starts subsiding, your motivation will increase even more.
At this point you have started to defeat the enemy within – You!. The foundation that has kept you where you’ve been has started to collapse. Change is not always easy, so don’t beat yourself up if you find change hard. Taking baby steps thus working towards change does work.
